A few weeks ago we started seeing a new dog on the beach during our morning walks. There are a lot of Bali beach dogs - but you start to recognize them, and when a new dog appears on the beach it usually means they were dumped/ and relocated there by someone.
This sweet little pup looked to be about 1 year old and was always in the same area on the sand. We decided to have the vet come meet us at the beach to give her a checkup and vaccines to protect her against viruses.
When we met the vet one afternoon we asked a few of the surf guides in the area if they knew the dog. It turned out one of the guides, Leo, has been helping to feed her and take care of her. She was actually dumped outside of where he lives and she started following him to the beach every morning! Leo had already sterilized her and given her the nickname - Lala :) Leo helped up keep her calm while the vet gave her vaccinations.
Now, everyday Lala follows Leo to the beach and watches him head off on his surf lessons.
